Faulk Family Task List

Yup, that's just a dang fancy phrase for "chore chart."

I decided this needed to happen.  I am so tired at the end of the day from working a full time teaching job plus three part-time theatre jobs that the LAST thing I want to do is clean.  So, I end up letting everything pile up until I literally dread coming home.  This results in a totally massive, totally random meltdown that usually ends with me scrubbing the whole apartment clean for hours.  I'm then in a MUCH better mood for a couple weeks until the cycle repeats itself.

This had to stop.

So, I created the Faulk Family Task List.  It lists the basic chores that need to be done around the house.  Some need to be done just once a week while others need to be done every day.  That's why I LOVE this cute chore chart template I found through Microsoft Office Online.  You can download the template HERE.  After I personalized it for what worked for our family, it looked like this:

Pinterest Challenge!

So, one of my favorite blogs, Young House Love, does a Pinterest Challenge where they urge people to stop pinning and start actually doing what they've been pinning!  I hopped on board with my own Pinterest Challenge and actually completed a DIY project!
I started with my Pinterest inspiration image:

I'm sure you've seen similar "state art" images floating around the web.  I thought they were cute and decided to make my own version of one for my parents as a Christmas gift.  I wanted to include the four places we have lived as a family: Michigan, Tennessee, Mexico, and Dubai.  Hopefully this will give you an easy, step-by-step tutorial of how to do one for yourself!
Step 1: Search google for geographically correct state/country outline images.  Once I got these I printed them out and made sure they were about the same size on the paper (I didn't care if the sizes were geographically correct in comparison to each other)
Step 2: Copy these images o…

So We Went to Dubai...

I know, I know.  I STINK at blogging.  I love the finished product, but let's be real.  Putting pictures into blogger has to be the most horrific computer experience I've ever had!  It takes forever!  So, let's all just be thankful that I blog even as infrequently as I do.

So...we went to Dubai over Christmas break!  My mom, dad, and sister live there for my dad's work and let me tell you it was FABULOUS.  I have never wanted to live somewhere so badly in my life!  It has all the comforts of the U.S. while not having to BE in the U.S.!  Also, most people speak English and all the signs are in English.  Talk about convenient!  The following are just a few of my favorite pictures from the trip.  To see the full album, go HERE.

I love how these pictures did not upload even remotely in the order that I clicked on them.  Delightful.  So, here are the pics in a completely random order!  Wahoo!
