Independence Day

I'm clearly playing catch-up here! For the 4th of July Daniel and I went to my grandparents' house in Roy, UT to celebrate with all my relatives! We played games at Grandma Anderson's for while (I miraculously beat her at scrabble, and then I beat both of them in Skipbo, and was in the middle of beating Daniel at Phase 10 when we had to go...) and then went to Stacy and Jason's (my aunt and uncle's) house for a barbecue with the Anderson clan + Grandma Porter. It was a blast! I love hanging out with my relatives. We had delicious handburgers and a range of classic 4th sides. I even made a strawberry cream cheese cake with strawberries and blueberries on top (hello patriotic!) that everyone seemed to like, thank heavens. Daniel had good time playing the Wii with my uncles and cousins, and it was a blast to watch them get competative! We finished out the night with fireworks in the lovely town of Hooper. What a great day with family! ...

The Lehi Rodeo...on a Friday Night

So, I few Fridays ago, Daniel and I went to the Lehi Roundup Rodeo. It was very...interesting! We went with Daniel's dad and Annie, Daniel's sister-in-law. It was a cute little town rodeo, and we had fun until it started raining, as you can see in the picture. I always feel bad for the calves they flip over...it's so sad! Anyway, I'm pretty sure our favorite part of the night was having some girl in a tiara come and sit down right in front of us and ask if the height of her tiara was going to block our view! It was hilarious. I'm like, ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW? It was insane! At half time/intermission they had some dirt bike guys come and do t ricks, which was awesome. The back flip was the best! The announcer was also hilarious because he followed almost everything he said with, "on a Friday night." Me and Daniel have been using this little phrase ever since. I was complaining on our way out that the bulls they rode weren't even very b...

Softball Madness

Daniel and I have joined our ward's coed intramural softball team! It's SO fun! I was very nervous our first game because I haven't played softball in a while, and Daniel's NEVER played. Also, we both were using mitts way too small for us because they're all we could find in Daniel's parents' garage! Despite the setbacks, we had a TON of fun. We even won our first game! Our second game we tied, but I was extremely upset because I hit awesome my first time up to bat and then struck out THREE TIMES. What the heck? So, I made Daniel take me to the batting cages at Trafalga. We had a great time, despite my hands getting completely torn up from batting. We also played mini golf, go-karts, and arcade games. They also had these 4-D movies with the rumble seats and so that was cool too. All in all, it was a GREAT day! We love spending time together and doing sporty things!
