Oh Yea...I Graduated!

On April 22, 2011 Camee Faulk became a college graduate!  I graduated Cum Laude (top 10% of the graduating class) with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts Education.  I have a legit teaching license and an undergraduate degree!  Wahoo!

My whole family came for my graduation, which meant so much to me.  I don't get to see my parents very often, so any time I do it's super special.

I was also lucky because I graduated with my very best theatre friends.  It was SO cool that we all got to walk together!  Here are some highlights:

Both sides of the family were there to support me.  LOVE THEM!

I'll miss this place!

High School Musical!

For some weird reason there was no tassel-moving or cap-throwing in our ceremony, so we took it upon ourselves to make that happen:

In summary, graduation was a blast.  Thanks to my parents, there was lots of eating (Los Hermanos and California Pizza Kitchen felt our wrath) and lots of huge and loves.  I am so grateful that I have had such a huge group of family and friends to support me over these past four five years.  Now on to the job search...eww.

My Birth Story--Riley James Faulk

A warning in advance--this is really long and detailed, so if you don't want to read a detailed birth story (with pictures), then stop now!  This was an important record for me to make and I didn't want to spare any details. :) Technically the story of my labor begins on Riley’s due date: July 24, 2013.   Because I have to go back to school as a teacher very soon (my first meeting is August 14), I was desperate to see if I could use some “natural” methods to get the labor going.   So, on Wednesday, July 24 around ten in the morning I took about 1.5 ounces of castor oil, which is known to get labor kick started occasionally by basically freaking out your bowels so you have the runs—lovely.   I waited for a few hours but nothing happened at all.   Bummer.   My mother and sister came to Salt Lake and we celebrated Pioneer Day by going to temple square and having lunch at the Lion House.   After lunch I started to have some horrible pains in m...

Cedar's Blessing Day

In our church, it is common practice for a baby to be be given a name and a blessing in church during their first few months of life.  This blessing is usually done by the baby's father.  (For more info on what a baby blessing entails, click  HERE ). Cedar Jane Faulk was blessed by her father on July 1, 2018.  We wanted her to be blessed when my parents could be there (my dad flew in from Shanghai), and as an added bonus, Daniel's parents were given permission to come home from their LDS mission in Orlando for a long weekend to attend the blessing!  It was very special for her to have both sets of grandparents there, as well as most of my aunts and uncles, sisters, and other friends. I will admit that Daniel and I felt a little bit of added pressure over this blessing as compared to our other kids' blessings.  It is common to hear babies blessed with things like health, marrying in the temple, etc.  For Cedar, all the "normal" things like that sud...

So I Was in a Show...

When I got back from Dubai, I was B-O-R-E-D.  I was looking for work (since my time at Ecker Hill Middle School ended when the normal teacher came back from sick leave) and nothing was coming up.  I was a stay at home wife. Not cool. So, I decided to audition for a musical-- Lucky Stiff .  It was my first audition in the Salt Lake Valley.  I doubted I would get in the first show I auditioned for since I knew no one in this part of Utah and I assumed it was probably even more competitive than in Provo. Regardless, I went for it...and got the lead female role!  I was shocked, not only that I had got cast as a lead but also that I got cast as the ingenue!  I tried to think back to all the parts I had previously played and I could not think of one role that would be considered an ingenue role.  I'm always the villain or the quirky weird character, which has always been fine because those are great roles to play.  For example: My senior year i...
