Father's Day

Father's Day was so nice! We went to church (all the dads and future dads got candy!) and then Daniel's dad came over for dinner! I made butter/garlic chicken, squash, mashed potatoes, Italian salad, and a big, fat brownie cake! It all turned out great, by some miracle. We had to sit and eat on our couch since we only have a two-person bar-table, but that was fine...nothing makes dinner taste even better than an episode of House! Then, we opened gifts. We got Daniel's dad a book of artwork and text by his favorite author, James Christensen. Daniel's mom is on a mission for the church in Central America, so we have been holding onto LaVaun's gift for her. It was a new receiver for his speakers. Nice! Also, I gave Daniel a recordable "future dad" card and a male pampering kit. It was so fun to see them both so happy! Delicious brownie cake followed. Because it is/was Father's Day, I'd like to say a few of the things I like best about my t...

Togetherness

Last night Daniel and I took a bike ride from our apartment to Seven Peaks. It was so nice to do something so simple together. Stuff like that really makes you realize that it's the little, simple together moments as a couple that make up a happy marriage. I truly feel like if we make an effort to do stuff together frequently, we'll be SO much happier and stronger as a couple! Anyway, I just loved it. And Daniel. P.S. This picture is supposed to be us in 50 years...still riding our bicycles! haha ALSO, on a different note, the show I'm in, The Book of Jer3miah, has got some SERIOUSLY good reviews lately in the New York Times, Salon.com, and others. Here are two links to some of the reviews!! The New York Times Gideon Burton

HILARIOUS MOVIE!

Last night, Daniel, Kim and I went and saw 17 Again at the dollar theater. HILARIOUS! I seriously loved it...much better than High School Musical! Zac Efron was so funny, and the entire movie was just classic. Kim and I were giggling like little school girls, and I caught Daniel LAUGHING...several times! So, if mister I-think-Zac-Efron-is-a-weiner was laughing consistantly, you KNOW it was pretty funny! Anyway, I had to proclaim my love for this hilarious movie. I must also mention that this was a date between Kim and I. Daniel was pointed out as the third wheel early on in the evening. I had to take Kim on a date because I took Kristy on a date last week to go bowling. Anyway, here are some of my favorite quotes from the movie. Feel free to add your own! Ned: "I think our hands just made a baby." (Daniel's favorite) Principal: You can plunder my dungeon anytime. Ned: I'll bring my longbow. Young Mike: If this were Afganistan, you would be pulled backwards ...

He made me so proud!

Ok, so Daniel is a wonderful husband. Here is one of the reasons why. Harry Potter Scene It has been sitting on our bookshelf looking very lonely, because I have no one to play it with. Daniel decided that I needed a Scene It partner, so he and I watched all 5 Harry Potter movies together (thank you Netflix!). Finally, all our work paid off. The other day we pulled that lonely game off our shelf and PLAYED! It was seriously fun. Of course, I kind of slaughtered him, BUT he did get several points right. Well, it's true that several of these were the tie-breaker questions such as "Whoever has the largest shoe gets to move one space" and "Whichever player has the greatest number of letters in their first name gets to move one space," BUT he got quite a few legit questions right about the delightful series of Harry Potter. I'm grateful for a husband who makes sacrifices so he can take part in ALL aspects of my life! Not that watching Harry Potter is a ...

The Book of Jer3miah Season Finale!

Ok everyone, for those of you who don't know, I (Camee) am in a web series called the Book of Jer3miah, and today the season finale came out online! To view it and the other episodes, go to www.jer3miah.com. It's been a really fun semester working on the series. I've had to get used to the film world as opposed to theatre, and I've met so many wonderful people both in the cast and crew! Imagine producing a web series that all together is the length of a LONG feature film...in one semester! It's unbelievable how much they've done. Anyway, I'd love it if everybody would watch the series...it's addicting! You can also see my character, Megan Halling, interview Kirby Heyborne at zoobynews.com. ENJOY!

E-Mealz Awesomeness...

Ok, so I found this link on the Dave Ramsey website....and it is awesome. E-Mealz is an online menu planner that gives you the recipes and grocery lists for 5 days worth of meals for 2 (and there are family plans too...) AND their prices. A new menu is sent to you every week. They keep the cost for an entire week of meals under $45. Also, the recipes are very simple! So, I decided to try it. I really want to cook more, but it always just seems so expensive. SO, I signed up for their 2-person Wal-mart plan. It gave me a grocery list with each item and how much it costs at Wal-mart. I went to Wal-mart and BEHOLD! I bought the groceries for a week's worth of meals PLUS some extra stuff for $44. Last night I made the first meal, poppy seed chicken, and it was SO GOOD! Daniel loved it! Anyway, I just want to share this awesome site with everyone because I can tell it's going to help us eat better and for less money. Does it get any better than that? I submit that it c...

Wei and Keeley's Wedding!

Last Saturday, June 6, we were able to attend Daniel's best friend Wei and his new wife Keeley's wedding! Daniel and Wei have been friends for a long time, and it was wonderful to see them both so happy! Keeley looked beautiful in her dress, and despite some weather mishaps, everything turned out great. Their ceremony was at Kiwanis park in Pleasant Grove, and their reception was at an LDS church down the street. All the colors were so bright and happy, and everything had a touch of Keeley and Wei's fun personalities. I think my favorite part was the skittles on the tables at the reception! Let's just say that our table was quickly wiped out of them...Daniel and I also had fun decorating TWO of Wei's several cars. We weren't sure which one he was going to drive away in, so we figured we should cover all our bases. The coolest thing was that Wei's dad and stepmom came all the way from China for the wedding! Wei and Keeley are planning on going to Chin...

Memorial Day!

We're playing a little bit of catch-up here, but Memorial Day was too--err-- interesting to forget! Daniel and his parents decided it would be fun to go fishing up at Strawberry resevoir, and it was such a beautiful day to go! Well, until we actually got up there. It was very cloudy and cold and windy once we got that far up into the mountains. Still, we kept on truckin and started to fish! I mostly snuggled under a blanket and tried to read Harry Potter while sticking my pole out the side of the boat. Part of me wanted to catch a fish to prove to Daniel I'm not a useless girly girl, but a larger part of me didn't want to...poor fishy! Anyway, my prayers were answered because Daniel was the only one to catch a fish. I felt really bad for it. I mean, just imagine! He thought today would be just another day swimmin around the resevoir with his buddies...but he was WRONG! He ended up thrashing around for air on a boat. Sad story. Anyway, once the icy rain and hail began, we de...

We like free...

So last night, Daniel and I had just finished the 4th Harry Potter movie (I'm making him watch them all before the 6th one comes out....and so I can have a Harry Potter SceneIt partner.), when I remembered that it was SONIC FREE ROOT BEER FLOAT NIGHT! Now, at this point it was after ten o'clock, and as the old, married couple we are, normally we'd be be-lining it to bed, BUT tonight we decided to be ADVENTUROUS and drive the whole 3 minutes to Sonic and get a free float. We pulled into the crowded drive-through (is that how that's spelled?) and there were actually waitresses with trays of the floats handing them out to cars so we didn't have to block up their parking lot, I guess. It was a small, mostly root beer float, but what really mattered was what it represented--ADVENTURE! We parked, spent two minutes eating out floats, drove back home, and we were in bed by ten thirty. Success!

Our Honeymoon!

So, the day after we got married, we left for LA to get on our 7-night cruise of the Mexican Riviera! We were both very excited for warm beaches in Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlan. However, our luck ran out pretty quickly! We DID make it to Cabo for one day, but then our boat got turned around because of the swine flu. We headed back up the coast to visit San Fransisco for a day, and then back to LA. It was pretty sad. So, our warm cruise actually consisted of ONE warm day, with 6 very cold, rainy, windy days. Despite what the brochure says, being stuck literally inside a cruise ship for 5 days is NOT fun. BUT, we made the most of it, and spent the time dreaming up our future honeymoon re-do! These are some of the pictures we took! In this picture, we clearly had no clue what was in store! Eating was a large part of our cruise... If it weren't for the all-you-can-eat ice cream bar, we might have died. We pla...
